A study on the satisfaction factors of armed forces hospital (Capital, Daejeon Hospital) in-patients


Abstract
This study was conducted to improved the quality of medical care in the armed forces hospital by analyzing the in-patient¡¯s satisfaction factors and their needs at the newly constructed Armed forces Capital, Daejeon hospital, and to evaluate the application possibility of the CoSa(Customer Satisfaction Measurement) 2000 was developed for civilian hospital by Korean medical QA society to the armed forces hospital through the test of validity and reliability.
The goal of this study was to provide a first step for investigating in-patients satisfaction factors in the military hospital, factors which is to be needed for military hospital modernization project.
In order to perform this study a total of 500 questionnaires was distributed to patients who are discharged from the armed forces hospital in a period of 2 months, 355 of which questionnaires was used for data analysis. The data was computed using statistical process with the SPSS 10.0.
A combination of factor and frequency, crossover analysis was used to obtain the results in this study.
The results of this study are summarized as follows:
1)By analyzing the satisfaction factors, there¡¯s significance levels between the Capital hospital and Daejeon hospital and the Capital hospital has more satisfaction from the in-patients.
2)In-patients who were hospitalized more than 3 months has more dissatisfaction in comparison with the other in-patients who have 2 months length of stay.
3)In-patients who were hospitalized in the Capital hospital has more satisfaction than Daejeon hospital¡¯s in-patients especially in the aspects of hospital¡¯s facility and environment, convenience of mess hall, medical staff¡¯s skill and professionalism.
Further research is required regarding the customer satisfaction measurement tools for military hospital.
